How do I register for Volunteer with Mines?

Step 1. Sign up and create a profile on volunteer.mines.edu.

Step 2. "Fan" the programs that interest you. When you fan a program, you will receive notification emails about available volunteer opportunities.

Step 3. Complete the required volunteer qualifications to become a certified Mines volunteer.

Step 4. Register for volunteer opportunities. Click on the volunteer opportunity that interests you and "respond." Doing that will indicate that you want to be a part of that unique volunteer opportunity.

For more comprehensive instructions, review the "Steps for Volunteering with Mines" posed on Mines Volunteer homepage. Additionally, you can watch this short video that will help walk you through the steps: Welcome to Volunteer with Mines

Do I need an account to respond to opportunities?

Yes. You must be logged in with an existing account to respond to a need. If you try to respond but are not logged in, you'll see a pop-up that gives you the option of logging in or, if you do not already have an account, creating an account. Once you are logged in to your account, you'll be returned to the need-information page to complete your response. Hooray!

Do I need to complete the required qualifications before I respond to an opportunity?

Yes. Every new volunteer needs to complete each required training video and waiver before they can register to volunteer for an opportunity. For more comprehensive instructions on completing the volunteer qualifications, please click here

Can you change my password?

Site managers can change passwords, but so can volunteers. If you forget your password, no worries! You can click the Forgot Password link on the login page. From there, you will be asked to enter your email address, and Get Connected will send you a password reset link.

Is there training available for volunteers?

Yes. We offer three volunteer training videos and two forms under the 'Qualifications' section of your profile. The volunteer site also offers a robust Help Center that houses a plethora of articles and videos.

How many responses can I make?

Great news. There's no limit to your awesomeness! You can volunteer to any number of volunteer opportunities.
