Opportunities From: Volunteer with Mines

The Career Center is seeking alumni support with Prep with Reps, our signature event to help students prepare for Career Days.

Happening Monday, February 2nd, from 12-3pm in the Student Center, Prep with Reps is an interactive event open to all students where staff, alumni, and employers are available to assist students with elevator pitches, resume reviews, and mock interviews.

What You’ll be Doing: As a volunteer, you will be assigned to one of our prep zones: Resumes Reviews, Elevator Pitches, or Mock Interviews. Based on the zone you are assigned, you’ll be helping students (all degree levels and majors) practice those career ready skills.

What to Expect: Prep with Reps is a fast-paced and busy event where we see 500+ students participate. Expect a loud environment, to talk to a lot of students with limited breaks during event hours, and to spend around 3-5 minutes with each student. Students will be excited, nervous, and deeply appreciative of your time so plan to offer encouragement and get them excited for the Career Days event the next day.

Additional Details: Training and resources are provided in advance of the event, and Career Center staff are available on site for questions and needs. Additionally, complementary lunch is available beginning at 11am, and a breakroom with snacks and refreshments is available for the full event.
