McNeil Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation

Who We Are

Purpose

  • Excite and educate students, faculty, alumni and community to innovate with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Create and deliver programs that give startups a fighting chance to thrive outside Mines.

 Vision/Mission

The McNeil Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (McNeil Center) creates value with and for our communities by empowering entrepreneurs and innovators. We link societal needs with innovations sprouting from scientific foundations. We vigorously support innovators in navigating ambiguity, complexity, uncertainty and constraints. We distinguish Mines by delivering transformative experiences and outcomes.

What We Do

The McNeil Center Approach

Our experiential programs are rooted in academic rigor, tenacious curiosity, and diverse collaborations. We start with problems, not solutions, and apply scientific methods and processes. We test and validate early and often. While others settle for entrepreneurial theater, we bring ideas to life and evolve them collaboratively. We are efficient and effective in offering a distinctive learning experience as follows:

  • Develop, deliver and coordinate innovative programs that differentiate Mines.
  • Drive participation in our programs (students, faculty, alumni, society, industry and government).
  • Attract gifts/investments and generate revenue to grow and scale our programs.
  • Track our outcomes to continuously enhanced the value we create and capture

We collaborate with and are supported by the Entrepreneurship and Innovation (E&I) Interest Group.
