CSM 250: Engineering Your Career Path is a 1-credit course for undergraduate students designed to develop their career readiness skills such as mapping a career path, creating a resume, learning to negotiate a job offer and more.
One of the key assignments for this course is to complete a mock interview. Learning best practices for interviewing and getting the opportunity to practice is an essential skill all students need. Through this assignment students are required to complete a 15-20 minute general interview for feedback.
Due to the size of the course, we offer an interview night where students can drop-in to complete the assignment. We are seeking alumni interested in participating in the event and interviewing students.
What To Know:
- You will be provided an interview guide and general questions. You are not expected to prepare the interview.
- You will be given training in advance for how the event will work and what to expect.
- You will meet with a variety of students across class level and major. You do not need to be familiar with their major to do the interview.
- We do not require students to dress up or bring a resume, since they are often coming to the event between class and studying. We encourage them to print a resume if possible.
- If you can attend only a portion of the event, that is fine.
- We will light food and refreshments.
