In celebration of Mines' sesquicentennial (150th Anniversary), all May 2024 graduating students are eligible to receive a 150th Anniversary Hat in honor of graduating during our sesquicentennial year. It is a new hat for a new generation that hearkens to memories of the Senior Stetson.
Mines is looking for volunteers to come to campus to brand, shape, and distribute these hats to students and to celebrate this momentous occasion with us. No experience is needed - you will be trained! Just come with your Oredigger spirit and willingness to support students as they head into graduation. We want commencement to be special for this class that missed their traditional high school graduation because of the COVID pandemic.
Volunteer days and times are Thursday, May 2, and Friday, May 3, from 8 am to 5 pm. Shifts are in three-hour blocks to provide time to properly train in hat branding and shaping. There will be a lot of energy and excitement on campus, and we encourage volunteers to sign up for as many blocks as they like.
Mines alumni volunteers will receive their own hat (either in the traditional style or western style) as a thank you for your time!
