Description

The Capstone Design program provides an opportunity for Mines students to work with industry and community partners to solve engineering problems with creativity and ingenuity through a thoughtful design process. Each semester, Mines students go beyond the textbook to solve open-ended, experiential design problems sponsored by industry, community, non-profit, government and organizations.

The Capstone Design program includes over 650 students from Civil, Design, Electrical, Environmental, and Mechanical Engineering, who are supported by over 30 faculty serving as Project Advisors. Capstone projects run two-semesters, with a new set of projects starting each August and January.

Capstone projects are completed over two semesters allowing greater depth and longer-term engagement with the client.  Small teams of 4-7 students in their senior year will work on complicated, multi-faceted projects that require thorough analysis and design work.

This November, we are proud to present the work of 20 design teams at the Mines Fall 2024 Capstone Design Showcase.
