Grit After Graduation: From First Jobs to First Failures – and Everything In between
Students, staff, alumni, and faculty are invited to participate in this interactive panel and networking event celebrating professional development, personal growth, and life-long learning. Share honest, real-world stories with students about what early career life actually looks like. From navigating first jobs and managing imposter syndrome to learning from failures and setbacks, reflect on how you built resilience, adapted to workplace challenges, and kept moving forward when things didn’t go as planned.
Wednesday, March 4th, 4-6pm, Student Center
Your Role as a Volunteer:
- 4-5PM: Alumni will be asked to sit with students at large round tables. We will have a facilitated panel on a stage, leading a conversation about their career journey. Throughout the panel, the moderator will periodically ask alumni sitting with students (you!) to share your own stories from your career to promote small group dialogue and engagement. Questions will be provided in advance.
- 5-6PM: Alumni will be invited to stay and network with students. These networking will be guided meaning students will be provided questions to ask alumni to open conversations.
Food and refreshments will be provided. An open bar will be available for those ages 21+. Parking will also be provided.
While we would love participation for the full event, if you can only attend one portion but want to participate we still invite you register.
